Government withdraws its appeal on interest, Pakistan happy: Religious scholar

Pakistan: Ulema and religious scholars have praised the government's decision to withdraw an appeal challenging the decision of the Federal Shariat Court on the abolition of interest. 

The decision of the Federal Shariat Court on the first interest termination of the Government of Pakistan was challenged in the court.

Celebrating 'Thanksgiving Day' on the decision in every nook and corner of the country, he assured the government of full cooperation in this noble work.

The Ulema thanked the government, especially Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, for taking such bold steps to rid the country's financial institutions of the interest-based system.

They said that the government's announcement to withdraw the appeal against the Federal Shariat Court's decision to abolish interest has caused a wave of happiness in the whole country and is being welcomed not only in Pakistan but in the entire Muslim world.

They believes that this initiative will make Pakistan financially strong and stable.
