Istanbul : Errol Yarar, head of the International business Forum (IBF), made a statement in a press release organized every two years by MÜSIAD as part of the 19th MÜSIAD EXPO, to be held for the 26th time this year.
This year's event will focus on food security and the future of agriculture and will be held in Istanbul from November 2 to 5.
Highlighting the importance of the MÜSIAD EXPO, the IBF chief said that it strengthens the ties between the participating countries and creates opportunities for new commercial partners.
"Trade between Islamic countries is close to 10% of total trade," Yarar said, dropping to less than 5% if oil and natural gas are removed from it.
This is the reason why Islamic countries have become dependent on the economic structure of western and developed economies. To overcome this problem, we must first get to know each other and then develop our trade with each other.
To achieve this goal, we need to take action, Yarar said.
