Protests reported again in Tehran, Isfahan and elsewhere

DUBAI, Oct 12 (Reuters) - Iranians continued anti-government protests on Wednesday following the killing of 22-year-old Mahsa Amini by Iran's ethics police on September 16, one of the biggest challenges to the government since the 1979 revolution.

Tear gas shells were fired during a protest outside the Lawyers Union in Tehran as dozens of demonstrators protested with slogans. The protesters raised slogans of "freedom for women to live"

In an apparently coordinated effort, activist groups have asked demonstrators to gather in the afternoon, breaking the pattern of night-time demonstrations since demonstrations began in Iran nearly four weeks ago.

The observer does not think that the protests are close to toppling the government, That's why the government is careless. Authorities endured six months of protests over a disputed election in 2009 - the unrest has underscored the suppressed frustration at freedoms and rights.
