ISTANBUL: Turkish police have arrested three more suspects in Sunday's Istanbul bombings, bringing the number of those detained to 50, Turkey's justice minister said. Six people were killed and 81 others were injured in the attack.

Sunday's blast targeted Istiklal Avenue of istanbul's Beyoglu district - an attack reminiscent of the bombings in Turkish cities between 2015 and 2017 that crushed the public's sense of security.

Turkish officials blamed the attack on the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party, or PKK, as well as Syrian Kurdish groups affiliated with it. However, Kurdish militant groups have categorically denied involvement. He clearly said that he would never target innocent people.

Turkey and the United States both consider the PKK a terrorist group, but disagree for the Syrian Kurdish group, as the Syrian Kurdish group is cooperating with the United States in the fight against the Islamic State group in Syria.

Police raided Istanbul following the explosion, detaining 47 people, including a Syrian woman. The woman, identified as  Ahlam Albashir, had entered Turkey illegally from Syria and has admitted to carrying out the attack.
