LUCKNOW: Owners of religious schools fear that their institutions may be "bulldozer run" by declaring them illegal as the Uttar Pradesh government conducts a survey of private madrassas.
According to sources, he had expressed apprehension at a meeting of Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind, a leading organization of Islamic scholars associated with Deobandi ideology, in New Delhi on 6 September.

Maulana Arshad Madani, president of Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind, told PTI, 'We have no objection if the government wants to conduct a survey of private madrassas, but the government should also take care that it does not interfere in our internal affairs. . Doing."
Sources said that it has been decided in the meeting that the views of the Muslim community will be placed before the government, the work of the government will be closely monitored and a steering committee will be formed to oppose any wrongdoing.
Earlier, AIMIM chief and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi and BSP supremo Mayawati had questioned the work for which teams were to be formed by September 10.
