Ambassador Ala said: Syrian people only cause human suffering because of terrorism and coercion.

 


GENEVA, Syria Times  (ST) - Ambassador Hossam al-Din Ala, Syria's Permanent Representative to the United Nations and International Organizations in Geneva, stressed that terrorism and unilateral coercion backed by external forces cause human suffering and displacement in and out of the Syrian people. are the main reasons.


In a statement on Wednesday ahead of the 73rd session of the UNHCR Executive Committee in Geneva, Ambassador Ala said it is the responsibility of the Global Refugee Compact to create conditions in countries of origin to ensure the safe and dignified return of refugees. He also said that the government has continued to work for restoration of normal life, return of service institutions to areas free from terrorism and meeting basic needs.

Ambassador Ala said the Syrian government's efforts have so far facilitated the return of nearly one million displaced people from Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq and Turkey.
