Israel has carried out several airstrikes in the Gaza Strip

The Gaza Strip was calm after three days of continuous attacks, but events in the West Bank have created tension again.

Gaza City - According to local sources, Israeli fighter jets again carried out several airstrikes in the blockaded Gaza Strip, causing power outages in some areas.

Among the main targets of Friday's attacks were sites used by Palestinian armed resistance groups at the Maghazi refugee camp in central Gaza, said Hamas, the group that runs this territory.

An Israeli military spokesman said warplanes struck a Hamas site in the central Gaza Strip in response to a rocket launch from Gaza toward Israel. There had yet to be an attack after a three-day military offensive in the region in August.

The Israeli military says four rockets were fired from Gaza earlier in the night, three of which did not even reach Israeli territory, while one rocket was intercepted by air defense systems.

However, no group claimed rocket attacks from the Palestinian side.

"The Israeli bombing will only make the Palestinians more inspire to resist the occupation and to increase their support for Jerusalem and its people," Hamas spokesman Hazem Qasim said.

Benjamin Netanyahu won this week's election in Israel, triggering violence.

According to the Palestinian Health Ministry, since the beginning of this year, at least 160 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces in the occupied West Bank and the Gaza Strip, including 51 Palestinians killed in Gaza during a three-day attack in August.

In the last 15 years, there have been 4 major wars between Israel and Hamas in addition to many minor skirmishes. Both Israel and Hamas rule Gaza.
